NYCxDESIGN is New York City’s first official design week happening from May 10 to May 21 and BREADBOX STUDIO is excited to showcase design and technology in Harlem.

“I want to make design and technology in Harlem more visible to and appreciated by the city’s professional creative community,” Joe Masibay, owner of Breadbox Studio, explains his involvement.

On Saturday, May 11 toy designer and inventor Joe Masibay and colleagues will be giving insights, demonstrations and answering questions about toy design development and the technologies involved like 3D printing and digital sculpting and modeling.

This event at Breadbox Studio is a partnership with The West Harlem Art Fund. According to Savona Bailey-McClain, Executive Director of The West Harlem Art Fund, “We support Breadbox Studio in Harlem because we understand that the disciplines of art, design and technology have to work together to create new jobs and develop new innovative products. Harlem is on the brink of becoming a destination for creative professionals. Strategic partnerships are forming with like-minded people. And with the mix of new restaurants, incubators and waterfront, Harlem’s future is looking bright.”

Mark your calendars and stay tuned.. we will unveil the speakers (Harlem area and NYC toy and product designers) soon!
